Methods of Packaging

All goods that we ship are packed in extra-strength sealed corrugated cardboard packaging or sealed air mailing bags.

Experience shows that smaller packages travel better, so ordinarily we advise making up
packages containing no more than 4 CDs, or 2 DVDs with 2 CDs.

This will also keep the value of the package down, which will minimise the chance of your country's Customs charging you any Import Taxes or other Duties - again, our experience is that such charges on packages of these sizes are very unusual in most countries.

How long it takes for your package to reach you

Packages to our UK customers are despatched by First Class mail.

All packages to overseas destinations are shipped via standard Air Mail - this usually takes around 7-10 days to reach most destinations worldwide.

The optional Airsure® Priority Express Mail service aims to have packages delivered faster than standard Air Mail - see below for destinations to which this service is available.

Shipping & Handling Costs

Packages to the UK are charged at GB£0.99 + GB£0.49 per item.

Packages to North America are charged at GB£1.49 + GB£0.89 per item.

Packages to the Rest of the World are charged at GB£1.79 + GB£0.99 per item.

Extra Shipping Services

The following services are available at extra cost for
packages shipped within the UK,
and provide tracking facilities at the UK Royal Mail web site:-

  • UK Recorded Signed For™ Delivery is available at an extra charge of GB£1.25 per package
  • UK Special Delivery™ Next Day is available at an extra charge of GB£4.95 per package

The following services are available at extra cost for
packages shipped overseas from the UK,
and provide tracking facilities at the UK Royal Mail web site:-

  • Airsure® is the Royal Mail's fastest international tracked service, providing a secure and reliable service to 30 destinations worldwide. Your package receives priority handling both in the UK and your own country, and is tracked electronically with on-line confirmation of delivery. It will leave on the first available flight from the UK and receive priority handling in your country.
    AirSure® is available at an extra charge of GB£5.95 per package.
    AirSure® is presently only available to these destinations:- Andorra, Austria, Azores, Balearic Islands, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Canary Islands, Corsica, Denmark, Faroe Islands, Finland, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Iceland, Ireland, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Madeira, Malaysia, Monaco, Netherlands, New Zealand, Portugal, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and the U.S.A.

  • International Signed For™ is available to all destinations worldwide - it provides you with the added reassurance that a signature will be taken on delivery.
    International Signed For™ is available at an extra charge of GB£5.25 per package.

  • Extra Compensation - all the above services include compensation of up to GB£30 (Pounds Sterling) if your package is lost or damaged.
    Extra compensation covering the full value of your package is available at a further extra charge of GB£2.50 per package.


Customs

All packages shipped overseas are accompanied by a CN22 Customs Declaration.

Customs worldwide reserve the right to randomly check the contents of all packages for drugs or other illicit goods.

This can occasionally add to the delivery time of your package - it is rare, but it does happen.

All Import and other Taxes and Duties are the responsibility of the Customer - Discount Music Connection (UK) is unable to take any responsibility for any charges levied within your own country.

However, we will always package your goods to minimise the risk of such charges being levied, within the bounds of international law.
